Sexiest Man Alive Auction: Which Celeb Can You Afford?

Sexiest Man Alive Auction: Which Celeb Can You Afford?

Who would you rather date: a movie star, a rock star, an Olympic gold medalist or a member of the royal family? All these men and more are up for grabs at People's Sexiest Man Alive charity auction, which pairs finalists from the magazine's annual Sexiest Man Alive issue with their favorite causes. If you put in the winning bid, then you get to spend a memorable day with a gorgeous celebrity, and you support a worthwhile cause. What's there to lose?

Well... a lot of money, for one thing! Currently, the highest-priced item is a polo date with England's Prince William. The package includes tickets to the exclusive Chakravarty Cup charity match, plus a champagne reception and (here's the kicker) a meet-and-greet with the royal family. The one catch is that Prince William won't be a very attentive date -- not just because he's newly engaged, but because he'll probably be playing in the match! Bidding is close to $9,000 right now, but the estimated value of the package is a whopping $115,000.

If you're more into American sports than British royalty, you can bid on dates with two of the hottest athletes alive: a weekend in Las Vegas to attend the Grand Slam for Children Gala with tennis champion Andre Agassi (value: $20,000), or swim practice and lunch with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps (value: $10,000). Why the difference in value? The first includes luxury accommodations all weekend, and the second includes only a catered lunch... from Subway!

For those who enjoy sweating on their dates, a few stars are offering to share their work-out time with one lucky lady (or man). A session with Glee's Mr. Schue himself, Matthew Morrison, will set you back at least #1,500, while a workout with movie star Hugh Jackman is currently going for nearly two thousand dollars (but is valued at $15,000!).

More laid-back fans may want to consider a set visit: with Mark Ruffalo on the film The Avengers (current bid: $2,750), Christopher Meloni on the set of Law & Order: SVU (current bid: $2,750), Jesse McCartney on the set of his new music video (current bid: $750), or Stephen Colbert on the set of The Colbert Report (current bid: $2,000). There are also VIP passes to live shows by Bon Jovi, Usher, Dane Cook and Nick Cannon, as well as tickets to the premiere of Bradley Cooper's next film.

Two of the most famous men, unfortunately, have the least exciting prizes: Ben Affleck will record a voicemail message for the highest bidder (cool, but $1000 worth of cool?), and Matt Damon is auctioning off an autographed bottle of wine.

On the plus side, the most date-like date is being offered by the least famous celeb: the gorgeous (and rich) Social Network star Armie Hammer. This one is only valued at $2,500, but it gets you a pretty sexy-sounding day on the beach, with bike riding on the boardwalk, doubles tennis, made-to-order gourmet food and cocktails, and massages at an exclusive social club. Shockingly, no one has bid on it yet -- but if you happen to have a few thousand dollars to spare, we think the Armie Hammer date is the dark horse to bet on!

You can see all the charity auctions here. Bidding ends on December 15th, and it's likely to get fierce in the final days.
