MacDonald suffered a gruesome leg injury in his UFC return at UFC 113 back in May, but this injury will delay his return to action.
Natal will now face UFC newcomer Jesse Bongfeldt on the card in Montreal. Bongfeldt is a 21-6 Canadian fighter, riding a seven fight win streak into the UFC. He's won 12 of his last 13 fights, with his sole loss in that stretch coming to UFC veteran Jonathan Goulet. In 27 fights, Bongfeldt has never gone to a decision.
Natal is looking to rebound from a loss to Ultimate Fighter 11 competitor Rich Attonito in his UFC debut. The decision loss came at Fight Night 22 in September.
UFC 124 airs live on pay-per-view from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, headlined by the Welterweight Championship bout between Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck.

Penick's Analysis: This is a highly unfortunate setback for MacDonald. His injury in May was really vicious, and having another injury in training has to be really disappointing. As for Bongfeldt, a cursory look at his record shows a fighter who may be a very exciting addition to the UFC roster, and he looks like a very good replacement for this fight. Natal is in need of a win, but this could be an immensely competitive fight for the night's preliminary card.
